"the
duty free" is a short film that shows the world through the
eyes of Anderson Walls. A man who is dealing with issues of alienation,
dispossesion, compliance and action. From these issues a choice
will have to be made.
"the duty free" was written and
directed by Matthew S. Martin and shot entirely on Kodak's beautiful
Kodachrome K-40 & Plus-X Super 8mm reversal film stocks (yes,
that's right FILM) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Featuring
the debut performance of Nathan Middleton as Anderson & a rocking
song by The Jack Palance Band, "the duty free" is the
first project from ApeDrape Films and is an official selection of
the 2001 ANTIMATTER FESTIVAL
OF UNDERGROUND FILM AND VIDEO, the Chapel Hill, N.C., FLICKER
FESTIVAL and the 1st annual LOCAL YOKELS FEST in Chattanooga,
TN. "the duty free" runs 5min. 44sec. and contains adult
themes and language. |
